The Seoul Kitchen

I sold my soul to Seoul, now I wander the Earth a haunted hungering soul, looking for things to cook in my Seoul Kitchen. I'm hungry, gonna cook 'em and eat 'em!

The One Where it's Really C-c-c-c-cold

Hangin' in Chi-town and it is really really cold! First day we got there the snow was blowin' around. Now we are up in Windsor, it's cold but not as cold as down there. Comin' up through Michigan, snow on the ground. That was really cold. And it's early November! We're gonna die in December. If the cold don't kill us, Christmas fever will. In Windsor (and Chicago suburbs) people are already decoratin' for X-mas, and you can hear the music...ugh! Not yet! Spare us! Well, if I'm still here I'll be havin' a white X-mas I guess.....

TOW Blast from the past II, Toronto

Hee Jin and I took a trip up to Toronto to see Laura and Connor...

Connor, a former Yarikuri Band guitarist is studying jazz in Toronto, Laura is/was teaching French..

Of course we hung out in the distillery district and good ol' Queen street.... Great beer was had by all.

The One With the Concrete Jungle of Seoul

It can get a bit wild here in Seoul. Back in April we had an elephant stampede. As they broke into a restaurant we can only guess that they needed a Kimchi fix. One broke free in a wild search for Kimchi and "The five others followed "because they have the tendency to do that," a zoo official told Reuters". So now the restaurant owner has turned her restaurant into Restaurant Where elephants Have Been. Now that's good thinkin'.

We're also being invaded by wild boars! Starting to remind me of Tucson a bit (although they're not as cute as Javalinas). People have tried to eat 'em but they
re too tough, not delicious. So I guess there'll be no Reataurant Where Wild Boars Have Been Cooked. (I had wild boar in Vietnam and I'll agree, pretty tough to eat. But it has a unique flavor that could be described as 'vaguely delicious', the water rats are much better.)
